Junior Prom

So my little (not so little anymore) sister's junior prom was last weekend. Reminds me of my Senior prom a few years ago:

I have more but obviously these are the only ones I choose to show.

JapanTown

Japantown, San Francisco

School is getting to me. I don't have time to do every little thing. Fortunately I'm in the middle of spring break and this gives me time to catch up with everything else that is not school-related. I am still trying to balance school and play...

So early this month I made a trip to Japantown for a specific mission. Okay, two.

My first mission was to buy something. And that something I got here. Hint: It was a in a Hawaiian-themed store.

I like how the surrounding streets have been translated into Japanese.

Then I looked around at the things like a tourist.

There it is!

This is essentially what JapanTown is known for: the Pagoda.

Unlike Chinatown, there are less people here. Or it could be it was about 1PM on a school day.

Japantown is also "one of the largest and oldest enclave" in the United States, according to Wikipedia (okay, it's not a reliable source but you cannot deny it is informational!).

If you find yourself here you should also check out Daiso and Ichiban Kan, located inside the mall. They're sort of like the equivalent of dollar stores, only that things cost $1.50 instead of a dollar. One can also find shaved ice cream and Japanese restaurants in the mall if you're into that sort of thing. (Shaved ice cream is perfect for a summer hot day.)

Three more days till April! I need to come up with an April Fool's joke. And a person to implement it on. Happy Spring!
