Halloween = Hell = Fire

I love Fire. There is just something about it- the way it starts out blue and mellow, then it grows into a raging yellow-red-orange like its angry, demanding your attention. It protects us, keeps us warm and makes things blow up. Whoever the founder of fire is- Thank you.

Look, it also helps us with food!

Wow. I sound like a pyromaniac, but really, I just am appreciating one of the things we all take for granted in this world. That reminds me, I need to learn how to start a fire with two stones.

Anyway, I'm never really into Halloween. Partly because I spent my years on the other side of the world where Halloween was not the norm. I can't even remember what I did last halloween. Maybe I'll carve a pumpkin next year. Enjoy all hallow's eve, folks.

(P.S. This post is brought to you by fire in a music video. And that's all I'm saying.)

More from Black Diamond Mines

My sister and I called these the boob hills. They are in fact, remains from the coal mining.

We hiked to the Rose Hill Cemetery that is on top of a hill.

I had an idea that this was cotton.

There were lots of them everywhere.

Coyote scat.

Before it gets any colder

This summer I had a few opportunities to visit Black Diamond Mines... and can I just say: If you are going there on a summer day, go in the early morning or evening because it is too hot during midday.

The trees were peeling.

Hike trails.

We found a grasshopper. I haven't seen one in eight years!

And a lake. We didn't stay long because there was a wasp nest nearby.

Black Diamond Mines is a dead town, located in Antioch, Contra Costa County. At its height it was a coal mining town. It features a cemetery, tour and hiking trails.

Introduction

Finally after six years of running around, I am back to blogger. Salutations! The name is Claudeen. I am currently twenty, a college student and a human being. When I am not busy worrying about tests and grades, I whip out my camera and we have fun times capturing moments and pretty scenes together.

This is what I look like:
